VCB backup failure + Networker 7.6 + ESX 4.0

Hello,

I was trying to do a VCB backup using networker 7.4 + VCB 1.5

I am doing the backup over the SAN.

the lun is shared.

and actually another VM is on that same LUN which I was sucessfull in running a backup.

Here is the error that was displayed for that specific saveset/machine.

'save_vcb.bat' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file.

Thanks

Ahmed

    Hi,

Is it NetWorker version 7.4 or 7.6?

    NetWorker version 7.6 use nsrvcb_save

    Regards,

    Hi,

Try to follow the steps recommended in VCB admin guide. You need to run install.bat (from legato directory installed in VCB directory). After you pass through all the steps, the save_vcb.bat will be copied to legato\nsr\bin and should work.

Of course you need to fill up "config.js".

    Hello,

you will need to use VCB 1.5 update 1 to save the VMs using VCB.

Related to this, I noticed the following:

When you create a new client by selecting a VM from the Virtualization view in the "Configuration" and you select virtual client, VCB,... and the lot, it still puts "save_vcb.bat" in the backup command even though NW 7.6 uses "nsrvcb_save" ...

Has anyone else noticed this and is it a bug?

    Thanks!
