Strange PING Issue with PowerConnect 2724
We have a PowerConnect 2724 connecting to a remote site via gigabit fiber. Eight (8) of the gigabit copper ports connect to PowerConnect 3448 switches within a building. (It basically acts as a hub in a hub-and-spoke topology within the building.)
This is strange... When I ping the 2724 from a remote site, I receive unusually high PING times between <1ms to 200ms+... but when I ping through the switch to the other 3448's, it comes back <1ms with no latency. I thought maybe it was just ICMP, so I used a "port ping" utility to ping the web port TCP 80. Same issue... high PING times in milliseconds.
The 2724 has the latest firmware.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
