Integrated NIC Ethernet Address?
Hello-
Is there any way I can find a Precision 340 integrated 3COM NIC ethernet address without loading up an operating system, i.e., is there some DOS utilities out there that can read the address? The 3c90xcfg.exe utility doesn't even recognize the NIC.
Any help would be appreciated. We need these addresses to get some node-locked application licenses.

you need an O/S to run the driver. if you don't want, or are unable to start
Windoze, Linux, or other O/S, you must find a DOS driver and boot to DOS.
until you load some kind of system/driver combo, your computer may as well not
be connected to the network.

Use the Dell Resource CD. Boot to this CD and run the Network Diagnostics. You should be get the information from the diagnostics echo server test.

Do you mean MAC address? Or IP address? The MAC address should actually be stamped or stuck to the card somewhere. There is no meaning to having an IP address without network drivers, etc. running. The IP address is a function of the network (IP) protocol. The card does not have "default" IP address.
