intel prowirless 2200bg and fedor core 5

I am new linux and have looked at seceral postins on how to install the drivers and firmware but not sure I understand the process. I am installing linux and the wireless card on a Dell C840. Linux sees the card in network hardware but when I try to add the wireless device it does not identify the card. Any help for this novice would be sincerely appreciated.

Anotherr complication will be once the device is recognized my network is using WPA security.

Thanks in advance to all for the help.
Jeff

And this one looks very good: http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/linux-tutorials-howtos-reference-material/44780-getting-wireless-lan-card-work-linux.html
