Missing WIRELESS 5620 MOBILE BROADBAND driver for Studio laptops
Hello
I have spent days traversing the Dell website and speaking with Dell technical support staff that have "never faced this issue before."
I purchased the Wireless 5620 Multi-Mode Gobi Mobile Broadband Mini-Card for Dell Inspiron / Latitude / Studio Laptops / Precision Mobile WorkStations shown here: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/networking_enterprise_class/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=313-9362
I confirmed over the phone that this part is compatible with my laptop a Studio 1737. (Clicking the compatibility tab on the above link also lists my laptop model.)
I've installed the device in the computer and it shows up in Device Manager as lacking the device driver.
No CD was included with the product.
No drivers are available anywhere on the Dell website that are compatible with my laptop--or any Studio laptop for that matter.
There are four or five drivers available that are specific to particular models of Alienware, Latitude, Precision Mobile Workstations, etc. (and I have downloaded them all!) but all of them exit with this error: UNABLE TO VALIDATE MODEL.
The driver files seem to be bundled into the installation program and therefore I can't just manually install them either.
Does anybody know what's up with this? And where the drivers for my Studio 1737 are?
Thanks for your help!
