Network Problems

I installed some drivers onto my dell xps 13 9350 and afterwards I can't connect to wifi at all and I don't even have to option to search for it. It's like it was completely removed from the laptop. The only option I have for connecting to the internet is through Broadband (PPPoE). The drivers I believe I installed were Dell Dock USB TYPE C PATCH 2K0JJ A00, Audio Driver HMMX3 WN32 6.3.9600.41 A01, and Chipset Driver V2WY5 WN32 1.16.32.1 A01

    Hi,

What operating system are you running on that XPS 13 9350?  I went through the list of chipset drivers available for download on the XPS 13 9350 drivers download page and none of the versions matched what you said you had installed.  Maybe I missed it but I wanted to be sure we're discussing the same OS.

That being said, all versions of Windows have the Windows Restore Point capability.  Have you tried rolling your system back to a point prior to this issue happening?  That would seem to be the easiest option I would think.

To better help me troubleshoot this issue please right click on my Dell Todd username and send me a private message with the Dell Service Tag of your XPS 13 9350.  Please keep all troubleshooting discussions here on this public thread so that others can see what we try to resolve this issue.

    Thank you,

    Todd

Actually the situation seems to be different then stated above. It seems that whenever I use my laptop whilst connected to the Dell USB-C adapter, which I use to connect my laptop to my monitor, it does not allow me to connect to WiFi. It doesn't even show up in settings or anywhere. It seems as though when using the adapter, it is forcing me to use the Ethernet port on said adapter to connect to the internet. Any help on how to stop this from occurring is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Assuming you're running Windows 10 on that system, if you haven't, then please update your BIOS to the newest version,  XPS 13 9350 1.2.3 BIOS.  That may clear up whatever the conflict is when you're using that adapter.

Let me know if that works.

    Todd
