Attempted to set up a Mirrored SSD with two identical 1tb Western Digital Drives. Went through the set up process via Disk Mgmt, shows up brownish and mirrored, however nothing transfer from one to the other when I save it.. That being said, the 2 SSD ARE ON a Dell 0NTRCY Dual SSD Card. Suggestions?
Even when using RAID 1, you still need to have your data backup externally. You can use Windows built-in software RAID 1 with existing data, but first, clean your new SSD drive from previous failed setup. Then, you can try these steps below :
Run Disk Management by pressing Win+r, then type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter.
Right click on your existing SSD, select Convert to Dynamic Disk then follow and complete the wizard.
Right click on your existing SSD, select New Mirrored Volume then follow and complete the wizard.
Right click on your new SSD, select Add Mirror then follow and complete the wizard.
