We have multiple 3540s that are connected to WD19 & WD19s docks and despite having lights (one solid, one blinking), it says no media connected and will not connect to our network.   We have replaced the docks, ac adapters and the computers with other 3540s and are still having this issue. Once the docks got back to our main IT office, they work with other models of laptops.

Have updated firmware and the Realtek USB GBE Ethernet Controller Driver. Issue persists for these select users. 

What am I missing?
