A940 Printer (Message) Black cartridge missing

I started getting this message, so I changed to a new cartridge..Same message.. I have swapped back and forth.. Still can't fix this problem. I have powered down the printer and done a restart of the Puter.. Thanks in advance for the help:smileyhappy:

    I was not even changing cartridges when this message started.. I am using dell cartridges..

    I am getting the same thing.  I refilled by using one of those refill syringe kits.

    Maybe I need a new Printer.. Any suggestions.. Hopefully 1 that will last more than 9 months...

    Dern.. Since this a dell forum.. Is there help from dell. Or does dell just make throw-away printers?

    Hi,

    I refilled my A940 black cartridge a few weeks ago and all seemed to work ok.  Then my black cartridge stopped printing yesterday.  After I refilled it again, I got the 'black cartridge missing' warning too.  I pulled the black cartridge out and of course got the same warning.  Then I put the cartridge back in and back out a few times, and finally the warning went away after I put the cartridge back in a final time.  Unfortunately my cartridge still doesn't print.

    So you might want to make sure your cartridge is properly installed and makes good electrical contact.

    I have reinserted these cartridges numerous times.. same deal missing black cartridge.. I can take the color cartridge out.. But it will allways see when I reinsert it..  Confused

    Ok.. I guess this a throw-away printer.. I will buy a new combo.. and will place my thoughts about Dell products on every message bd. I am a memember of..
