Cartridge Error

I just received my A940 and when I installed the black and color cartridges it gave me a cartridge error (I think it said 050).  I read the manual and checked to see which cartridge was giving the error.  The black is fine, but now the printer is saying the color cartridge is missing, even when it is installed.  This is the cartridge that came with the printer and should be fine.  Do I need to order a new color cartridge or is there something else I can do?

Hello Everyone....first time here

Sounds like a big prob with the color cartridge.  I received my NEW printer and was able to print a test page that included color, but that was all the color that I got out of it.  Talked to tech support and the sent me another printer after going through a lot of black ink and changing color cartridges.  To no avail even the REFURBISHED printer didn't even print color.  Guess what... now they are gonna send me another printer.  But not until the original one gets back into their office.  So for the next four days I am without printing color. And that is if the next one will work.  CMON DELL.. what is going on with your printers using this kind of cartridges?

Thanks for putting me through so much.....and thank you for giving me all your time.

Hello all,

I had the exact same a month ago when I put in a new color cartridge. I resolved the problem by pushing the color cartridge a little to the left once it was secured in place. Right away I got the old/new color cartridge question displayed and never had any other problem with it since.

Hope it helps others.

I bought the Dell AIO printer A940, the other day. And my colour cartridge is not working, but my black one works fine.  It comes up as an error! On the Printer LCD Screen it says:

Cartridge Error:

Error: 50C. Consult user guide.

It is really annoying me, because i cant get through to them on their technical support phone number! They always put me on hold!!!

please give me some ideas on how i can try and fix this!!

I had the same problem with my A940 printer they kept sending me cartridges(color) and nothing seemed to work then they sent me a new printer still the same problem. so I finally sent the printer back and requested another one but not a dellA940, I'm still waiting on that printer which was ordered on the 25th of October, I've had to go through a lot of unnecessary changes with Dell to get this issue resolved. their phone system is mesed up and all you do all day is call, get disconnected, call again, get transferred and get disconnected. you never can take their word for anything because they tell you a lot of lies. and I think they tell you whatever to get you off the phone. remember when yu call to try and get an issue resolved always take a name and if possible a badge number. I'm not even sure that they give their real names. all I know is that the experience I had has been very stressful for me.

Hello again...hope everyone is getting there issues resolved.  Both personal and technical....lol.

Anyways....I had finally resolved my cartridge errors.  After three printers and two color cartridges they finally replaced a color cartridge that worked.  Now I can really see my black color.  It seems they will even replace the other cartridge that I bought with the system also.  But I do need to send the others back, probably so no one has any evidence of their incompetence.  This was ongoing for nearly the entire month of October.  If they have some kind of glitch with the color cartridges why don't they just admit it and fix the issue.  C'mon Dell have you ever heard of Six Sigma.  Well, if you haven't I am a level 1 Analyst in Six Sigma and I am sure I can get the boat rocking.

Thanks for all your efforts Mahammed......Saheed........Pierre.....oh I think there was a Joe too.

Keep 'em coming folks.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their problems.  My Dell A940 was delivered yesterday.  I've tried two black and two colour cartridges, and whilst the printer is saying that everything is okay, the pages are always blank whatever I try to print.  I've contacted technical support, so I will wait to see their reply.  I felt better to know that it wasn't me, and if anyone has any suggestions I'm open to offers.
