Does it print anything at all? You say it scans but does it print what it scans? If it does then it is not the ink carts. If it prints nothing the the ink carts could be bad but it also could be several other things. You might try this.

When you don't use your ink carts for a while, when you get new ink carts that have been stored in warehouses for a number of months, or when you have refilled a slightly too dry ink cart, the print head nozzles on the bottom of the ink carts get clogged with dried ink. The printer head cleaner menu will NOT dissolve the dried ink. Water will. Try this. Soak the bottom of the clogged ink cart in 1/2 inch of hot water for 15-30 minutes. Blot dry with clean paper towel (you should see the ink color on the towel). Retry.

My printer also does not print from my computer, but it does copy things, it scans and then prints it. So far the driver has said that there is a communication error, and I think that means that there is a communication error b/t the printer port and the computer..I dunno. Anyway, if anyone has ever had this sort of problem, the printer does not print the doc that u want it to print, and can fix it; please reply.
Thank you

I have a 922AIO  printer with same problem. I'm thinking aio stands for always inoperable. Of course it is out of warranty an all Dell could do is suggest I buy a new piece of junk from them.I think not, in fact Dell is no longer in my vocabulary.Spread the word all Dell produts are junk.

I have had my 922 for a year and a half. In that time I have printed over 25,000 pages and many hundred 8x10 color photographs and gone through more than 50 ink carts. In that time I have never had any malfunctions and the printing has always been perfect. I also work in the computer services dept. at a very large university with thousands of Dells. We have very few problems with them and most of the problems we do have are student made.
