gailjm,
Make and model of your computer and operating system. 32-bit or 64-bit? Was this computer upgraded to Windows 7 or did the system come with Windows 7?
What virus program and firewall are you using?

Hi Rick, thanks so much for responding! I have a HP P6-2100, 64 bit and windows 7 came with it. Right now Im using the free norton that came with the computer cuz havent had a chance to install my Trend and so guess the firewaill would be whatever is standard. Hope that answers your questions! Thanks again.

gailjm,
First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.
Disconnect the printer.
Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal
Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).
Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

Hi,
Welcome to the community,
Connect the printer to the system using the USB cable
go to start menu and under start search box type the word device manager and click on device manager, in device manager check and see if you have the name other devices in the list
and check if it shows the name of the printer 962 in the list
then use this link copy the link in the web browser (ftp.us.dell.com/Printer/R160799.exe)
download it and run it on the computer and printer should work with the computer
