What USB cable needed for Dell Multi-Function Printer 1600N?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum.  I just purchased a Dell 1600n Laser Multi-Function printer.  It did not come with a USB printer cable.  I need to know specifically what typ USB cable I need to connect this printer to my computer which is running Windows 98 SE.  Is it just an A to B USB cable?  Are the connectors both male to male?  Male to female?  Female to Female?  As you can see, I'm new with USB cables.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi,

I have the same printer.  You just need a regular printer USB cable. Both ends are male. One end is flat and wide as much as 1/2", and the other is somewhat square.

Hope this helps, I picked mine up at CompUSA.

    Vinnie.

    All,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Just to clarify, Vinnie is describing a USB A to USB B cable, both male.  They should be available at any computer store.

    Thanks Rollie,

How about some real help, and creating drivers that allow this boondoggle to really be a "Network optimized Printer, Scanner, Copy and Fax" ?
