Chris-M: what's the solution for the chapter display bug while watching DVDs in DME?

Chris-M, as several threads indicate, people using the remote control to watch DVDs with the Dell Media Experience software can't seem to turn off the on-screen-display of chapter numbers, which is severely distracting when trying to watch a movie.  We've talked to tech support, etc. without any resolution.

What do you know about it?  Can you research this and give us the answer?  We would really appreciate it!  Thanks in advance!

I'd like to chime in on this post!  I got my new inspiron 8600 on Tuesday, and this little  "feature" is very annoying.

When watching a DVD, as the DVD changes to each chapter, the word "Chapter" and the Chapter number appear as you pass each chapter during viewing.

Any update Chris?

Thanks,

David

ChrisM,

May I ask what the delay is?

Benjamino5,

The new version fixes the issue. I don't have a timetable so I cannot tell you when it will be released.

Well, Chris-M, thanks for the response.

I can't say I'm happy with the quality of service I've received from Dell--you were the first person (out of several) at Dell to find an answer, and it took you several weeks. I don't blame you at all, but it seems tech support information does not flow between the various parts of Dell's tech support (I've encountered this in dealing with other problems as well). It must be frustrating for you and the other Dell reps to have to deal with incomplete or missing information.

Here's hoping the update makes us not regret spending the extra money on the remote! :)

Well I guess a lot more people have noticed this problem. It has been over a MONTH since this thread was replied to. Why is Dell making everyone wait to fix this one issue?
