Roxio Creator 2009 & Dell
Hi,
I have a Dell XPS 700 and recently upgraded to Windows Vista, SP1.
I installed the full version of Roxio Creator 2009, and then installed the latest service pack from Roxio, SP3.
I chose Roxio because it automatically converts TiVo files for burning to DVD. When I use the program
everything looks like it works fine, but when it finishes burning the DVD, it kicks the DVD out and tells me
that it the process is complete and successful. When I put the DVD into my DVD player in the living room
I get told that it can't play the disc. So I reload it into the DVD drive on my PC and when I click on the drive
my PC tells me to load a disc into the drive. These discs won't play on any of my DVD players, either PC
based or home units.
I have heard that there is some type of compatibility issue between Roxio and Dell computers. Is this true
and if so, is there a patch or fix? It seems odd since Roxio and Dell seem to have some sort of partnership.
When I use the Windows DVD Maker bundled with Vista, it works fine, but I have to first run a program to
strip off the TiVo encryption, something that Roxio does automatically.
Thank you for your help.
