You should have Dell's PC Restore by Symantec Utility on the hard drive, that restores the system to factory condition.
How to use the Dell PC Restore by Symantec Utility.
Dell Customers can request a set of backup discs containing the factory-installed operating system as well as the device drivers and utilities specific to your system from here.

I'm sorry, but I'm not familar with the expression 'resting a Dimension E310', do you mean 'Hibernate' or 'Standby'?
