Support assist not finding newest drivers

This is my first post in this community; just felt I should bring it to Dell's attention that it seems the SupportAssist app is not always finding the newest drivers.

For example, my Dell Digital Delivery Windows Service kept causing my computer to crash (shut down suddenly and restart), as could be seen on the Reliability Monitor. It had done this more than five times. But when I went to the Dell website and ran web support assist, it said I had all the most recent drivers installed. I noticed a bunch of other drivers too, like the Realtek Audio, for which there were more recent versions than the one I had installed (I checked the version number), and yet SupportAssist asserted I was up to date. This was on my XPS8700.

I also have a Dell Latitude E5450 laptop, so I tried the same experiment on it, but I used the SupportAssist app that I had installed instead of on the website. It found one update (BIOS, urgent), but missed all the others (and there were quite a few that were not up to date, including some that were marked urgent, and a recommended firmware update for the hard drive that I'm certain I never did, because it requires booting from a usb, which I've never done). I had no crashes on it recently, so I have no reason to believe the others were important, but it is still untrue to say that there are no available updates, and this is what SupportAssist app says.

Is it best, in general, just to update from the website, manually? Thanks for reading my post.
