There is a small pin hole next to the sd card insert. Stick a pin into it and press the reset button.

I have the same problem -- I did the reset button, then powered on and now I get only the Dell circle logo with a rainbow colour flash. Won't go any further; can't turn it off except bu pushing reset again. I have done this several times: still stuck. HELP!

Hold down the volume + and power button at the same time to boot into recovery and reset to factory setting.

Thanks otnos -- this time it worked! I have to say, I have really lost confidence in my streak -- this was the second time it completely froze up. I have had several ordinary freeze-up, when pushing the re-set button worked, but these total freeze-ups are really bad. Have I got a lemon, do you think, or is this a common occurance?

It's hard to say. You have to take note of what you are doing when the tablet freezes. It may be a software thing, poorly written app or non honeycomb app. Most apps are not written for honeycomb, even though it runs on honeycomb, it may make honeycomb unstable. Don't load too many apps at once. Load one at a time and use it for a few days to see if there are any problems befor loading more. This way when something happen you can identify the culprit.

You know that all of this is because Android is still a beta OS. Its not always a hardware problem. You and I paid high money to be Google's beta tester. So problems are bound to happen. I dont load too many apps and try to keep my system lean and clean. I use it mainly for web and light gaming. So far it is runng well, with a few problem here and there.

Thanks for the advice -- I will pay more attention to the software, etc for the next month or so. I bought it last Sept. and have generally been very happy with it, but I don't want to risk running out of warranty room.

hey i tried both reseting with pin and using the + and power button, it still doesn't work. All i did was connect my streak with the laptop and then all of a sudden it froze, it just shows the dell circle logo with rainbow at start doesn't go any further. HELP!

You must be fully charged in order to boot into recovery mode. Once your in, you will see the option to do a system restore. Just keep the tablet off and charge it until the LED is green.

If it has frozen: open the panel at the back and expose the pin hole. Stick a paper clip in and the device will go off.

If you then get the rainbow flashing/stuck on dell logo screen,  do a factory reset:

1) use the paper clip to turn the device off.

2) Press and hold the Volume +

3) While holding, push the power button.

4) Wait until you see the configuration menu--chose Factory Reset to restore your device

You and anyone that bought a Streak 7, bought a LEMON.  We got one for our Foster Son and he is just experiencing nothing but disappointment, much of what he has experience in life!

When you reach resetting the Streak 7, 10 times, what is left to do?  You should be able to do something other than just reset this damn thing.  This sucks!
