UNITY 300 restore to defaults

Hi all,

I have just received a Unity 300 and I have some questions about it.

I found we can restore to default the system switching controllers to service mode but I supose that procedure wipe out the license, isn't it?

As we are not the original customer I don't know if I can access to download license file. Is any way to obtain the license from system before restore it to defaults?

Thanks in advance,

you can connect the boot disk directly to you desktop and then copy the license file.

then you can svc_reinit to reinitialize the system to factory default.

I have found other way.... Using the collecting service data tool downloads a tar file with a copy of some system files from SPA and SPB, if you search into SPA files you can find the path /EMC/backend/CEM/licenses/ and the .lic file into it.

    Hello jtejada.ralco,

You want to save your license before you start the reinit process.  The license file will be located on the primary SP under /EMC/backend/CEM/licenses/. Without the license file the system cannot be initialized after the reinit.

You will need root access to obtain access to the directory. You will need to call phone support.
