Unity Sync replication behaviour when IP connectivity is interrupted

Just a quick question on how Sync Rep handles loss of LAN connectivity between the Arrays.

If, for example, the Sync Rep Manamangement Port on SP-A of the Source Array loses IP connectivity to the Sync Rep Management Port on SP-A of the Target Array, the replication sessions are interrupted, even though the FC connection is not affected. Is this expected behaviour?

Would this only affect the Sync Rep sessions of LUNs/Datastores on SP-A, if both SP-Bs can still communicate? The sessions don't failover to SP-B?

    there is no auto-failover of sync rep sessions between SP's

    only if one SP goes down - but then both NAS servers and rep sessions fail over
