Hello all, this is my first post. I have a Dell Vostro 260 with a (Sandy Bridge) Intel G630 Pentium CPU that I want to upgrade from but I cannot find anywhere a list of CPUs that are compatible with it.
I already bought a Core i7-3770S from eBay but when I put it in and the system wont even POST. The seller said it's because it is not compatible with my system and so took it back and refunded me but now I'm left with the question of what CPUs are compatible?
Wikipedia and Intel websites imply that the Intel H61 (Cougar Point) chipset is compatible with any and all CPUs that fit the LGA 1155 socket so it must be some limitation of the motherboard.
I really just need to know what the fastest CPU guaranteed to work in this system is. Thank You.
