When trying to switch between programs using Alt-Tab the box containing the icons of running programs disappears very quickly without giving me the chance to make the switch.

 

I also notice that the pop-up help ion dialogue boxes vanishes within a second or so, before giving time for it to be read.

 

I wonder if these problems are related and what can be done to correct them.

 

I'm running XP Professional SP2 on a Vostro 1000.

 

Any advice would be much appreciated.
