dell Dimension 2400 reinstalling XP
I am trying to reinstall XP with the disk that came with the computer. I put the disk in the drive and turned on the pc. When the options came up I selected reinstall. I then got a message that I had anewer version and the older version would overwrite the newer version. I can't remember exactly what came next, but I think I clicked ok to to install. I then got the message to hit any key andto continue and everything went down hill from there. I shut down put the disk back in the drive and now it says non-system disk or disk error...replace and strike any key when ready. and I keep getting the same message when I replace and strike any key. Can someone help me? I have searched everywhere I can think of online and can't find a solution. I don't have a floppy drive on my new pc so can't download a boot disk. I thought I could download to a cd, but can't find that either.
I hope I'm posting in the right forum. This is my first post.
Thanks for reading my problem,
Billie
