Kodak Easy Share

Question

I just purchased a new Inspiron 9300 and had the tech install my Kodak Easy Share program to this computer.  Transferred all my photos from previous computer with no problem.    However, now, when I receive an email with a jpeg attachment, I can no longer open and view the photo from the email as I could do previously - a window appears saying I have 'no application to view this attachment'  I have to save it to My Pictures, then go there an open it and use the Kodak Easy Share to open and view.  No one at the Dell store can seem to fix this problem.    My other question is - I seem to have a slot labeled SD on the side of the computer.  Does this mean I can insert my SD memory card out of my Kodak Easy Share camera directly and download photos this way, or do I still have to connect my camera using the USB slot.

Go to Control panel ☞ Folder Options' ☞ 'File Types' tab and scroll down to jpeg. Select 'change' and select ' Internet Explorer ' from the recommended programs.

THANK YOU!! How come the Dell techies at the shop couldn't figure this out for me - I've had it in there twice and no success!

Now can you answer my other question about the SD slot - whether or not I can insert my SD 512 memory card from my camera into that slot and download my photos directly - or do I have to still use my camera and USB to do that.

You can use the slot if it accepts the same kind of sd card. I use the sd card on my photo printer and the computer, which doesn't have a card reader, sees it as another drive in Windows Explorer. I just drag the photos to a folder.

read you advice to go to Font etc and then select Internet Explorer.  Haven't tried that yet, but I am dismayed at how Kodak Easy share has added and taken over the logo of my other photo programs.  I downloaded this file ONLY because a neighbor has a webtv set up and wanted to see his pix before he learned how to work the software and suddenly it has me.  Is there anyway I can prevent the primary photo program from being changed to the original without deleteing the photos that now come in Kodak frames?

The original post was a typo.

Go to Control panel ☞ Folder Options' ☞ 'File Types' tab and scroll down to jpeg. Select 'change' and select ' Internet Explorer ' from the recommended programs.

By changing from Kodak to Internet Explorer you won't lose any pics. It only changes what program opens the files (pics).
