Liveupdate Interactive to Liveupdate Express

Hi,

I recently changed my Norton Symantec Liveupdate from Interactive to Express and I still always check it and it says everything up to date.    Do I have proof?

How do I go back to Interactive?   I'm trying to find this in knowledge base at Symantec but no luck.

It says Express should be used in corporations but I am not a business.

I wanted Express because it would download automatically.   Is this ok???

Thanks

Yep, it's okay.  I've always used Express mode with no problems.

I have Norton 2002 & I can't see from Norton Help how you can change back to Interactive.
If you have 2002 you might try http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/lu/lu.html  reinstall Live Update latest version.
If you want Live Updates to load in background use Options , Live Update , tick "Enable automatic LiveUpdate"
&  check "Apply updates without ......"

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

I misunderstood what I read last nite when I configured.

I thought computer would automatically update without me checking in Express Mode but I just went into it now and it downloaded.     In other words, I thought it would do in background without me knowing.

If I want to change back to interactive, what is procedure?    Pls provide steps.   Thanks alot!!!!!

    Crystal,

To get the NAV automatic liveupdate weekly (every Wednesday or early Thursday), you have to set it by:

    1.  Open NAV by double clicking on the systray icon.

    2.  Select Options at the top of the Window.

    3.  When the new screen opens, select LiveUpdate under the Internet section.

    4.  Then check mark the options you want under Automatic LiveUpdate.

Once you do this, it will automatically function as per your selected options...in either interactive or express mode.

To go back to interactive mode, START-SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL and select the Symantec LiveUpdate function.  When it opens, just select interactive mode.

If you don't have the Symantec applet in Control panel, just open live update and click configure.

    Hi.

Thank you for all your replies but when I go in LiveUPDate, it doesn't have word configure anymore.

I will have to try and figure out.  There must be a way to change to interactive but I'm not sure how.

No settings in my Control Panel.   I have Systemworks believe 2003 on my desktop.   I can click on that and see what happens.

I found once you have used configure & selected  "Express" the LiveUpdate window no longer show configure option but thanks to Siliconman I used Control Panel  , "Switch to Classic View" (left menu) & it shows LiveUpdate icon where you can set configure to "Interactive or Express".

    Thank you, everyone.

I am all set thanks to all of your help.

I went into Control Panel and Symantec Anti Virus and there was spot for interactive.

I am back to interactive and like it better.

    Have a nice day!!!!
