Reinstalling XP

I am reinstalling XP on my Dell and when the installing devices screen comes up, I get a bad_pool_caller message. Anybody have an idea on how to get past this??????

Did you format the drive first?  If not, you should.

Did you disconnect all external peripherals except the keyboard and mouse, and be sure those are not USB, or wireless?

Yes, the only things hooked up are the mouse, monitor and keyboard, The message did give me some codes, 0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0x11111111, and 0xFFBOBC48. But I am having trouble finding out what they mean. Any ideas??????

Have you run the diag CD? Might be a hardware issue as those look like memory addresses.

Are these USB devices?  If so, try a PS2 adapter.

No they aren't USB, just standard PnP
