I have received conflicting information on what I can do.  I was under the assumption that I could only register my copy of Windows XP Media on what computer.  I need to update Windows ME to WIndows XP on my old computer in order to set up a wireless network.  I figured I would have to spend alot of money & purchase the upgrade.

 

However, someone else has told me that I should be able to install Windows XP Media from my new system to my old one.  My son did this - but questioned me about registering it.  I told him not to until I get some answers.  So we have a trial version currently.

 

Can we register it on 2 computers that we own - or do I need to spend the extra $200 to buy another version of windows XP?

 

Or is there another alternative that I don't know about?
