When i go into windows>temp and try to delete a folder named "history", I receive a message stating "the folder (history) is a system folder. If you delete it, Windows or another program may no longer work correctly"
I have a few others that also give me the same warning.
Is it safe to delete them?? I have a Dell dimension4100 running WinMe
Any help will be greatly appreciated

The history folder should not be in the windows\temp folder, but belongs in the windows folder by itself. To clear the history files go to start, settings, control panel & double click the internet options icon. Use the "clear history" to clear the history files. You can also select the number of days to store history.
The history folder should not be deleted.
The history files are very helpful sometimes if you wish to return to a web site again later and have forgotten the address.
Hi, guess I didn't explain myself clearly. I do have a history folder in windows plus I also have one in the Temp folder. I also have temporary internet files folder and cookies folder in my Temp folder and also in Windows.
My question is, can I delete the ones in the temp folder without creating problems even though I receive the warning, "the folder is a system folder. If you delete it, Windows or another program may no longer work correctly.
