Data traffic between two machines on same wi-fi network

Hi.

Can someone please tell me if PocketCloud data traffic stays on my wireless network if both devices are connected to it (no internet traffic) or if it goes out via the internet connection and back again?

Basically, I want to know if I'd be risking using up my internet data allowance (or, worse, the mobile data if for some reason the internet connection is down).
