I don't see a forum for Precision, so I go with XPS, I guess.

We have a couple dell 7730's with the 1600x900 display. We meant to order 1920x1080, but neglected to do that. So, I connected an external monitor to at least get 1920x1080 on the external monitor. The interesting thing is that suddenly made 1920x1080 possible on the laptop display. How can that be? I thought the LCD display on the laptop was physically limited to 1600x900. It would seem this is a software limitation.

Is there a way to unlock the 1920x1080 mode without plugging an external monitor into it?
