Yesterday, I had an issue with static audio while using headphones. A user suggested turning Waves MaxxAudio Pro off from inside the app. And that worked, my headphones worked.
Fast forward to today. Now my speakers don't work! Nothing but static. Same issue I was having with my headphones. So my headphones work only if I turn off that application, and for some reason my speakers are now having the issue?
Dell, you need to seriously fix this issue, I have been reading that many users are having these audio issues. This laptop is brand new. I've had it for no more than 3 months.
Can anyone help? I've tried it seems like everything at this point, and calling Dell technical support is pretty much useless. I'm 100%sure this is a software issue, and it seems there is no way to get rid of Waves MaxxAudio Pro. I'm extremely dissatisfied with Dell at the moment and I've always been a fan of their computers for the past 15 years.
Hi, To resolve the audio distortion or static noise issue, uninstall the Realtek Audio driver and then download and install the latest version of the Realtek audio driver.
Right-click Start and select Apps and Features. In the Apps and Features window, locate and select Realtek Audio Driver (Figure 1). Click Uninstall. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process. Restart the computer (if prompted).
Download and install the latest Realtek audio driver from the Dell website
Hello, was there every a resolution to this issue I am having the exact same issue on my XPS 15 9500, My speakers were working fine but i could only hear static on my headphones until i turned off Waves MaxxAudio Pro but now my speakers only play static regardless if Waves is on or off. I have tried restarting but no change
When does the static occur? What application are you using when the static occurs? Is this issue while playing audio or video or both on the machine? Does this happen on both online and offline files - files from your HDD? Do the headphones work fine?
Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us.
