Symptoms

Issue:
  • The expansion enclosure bus has a cabling issue.
  • Connectivity from node to the expansion enclosure is down.
  • PSU failure is detected.
  • The power supply unit is disconnected.
When Dell PowerStore encounters an issue, an error alert is generated to help identify the issue. This article explains the different possible causes and the relevant solutions for these error alerts. If your problem is not resolved despite the solution that is provided, check the Dell Technical Support contact options.

Cause

The cause for the respective alerts is explained in the Resolution section.

Resolution

Alert ID XMS_JBOD_FAULT_REASON_MISCABLED
Alert Text The expansion enclosure bus <bus_num> enclosure <encl_num> has a cabling issue.
Error Code (0x0030A602)
Resolution Cause
The expansion enclosure is not cabled correctly.
Some SAS cables are not connected or are connected incorrectly.

Solution

Note: The SAS drives on the DAE may already be part of the appliance’s I/O service. Do not repair two cables simultaneously.
  • Before repair, see the Installation and Service Guide for more information. There is a Cabling Diagram in the PowerStore Installation and Service Guide.
  • If connected cables are cabled correctly and I/O service is running, add missing cables according to the diagram. Verify that I/O service is still running after connecting each cable. Do not disconnect a cable once it is connected.
  • For any other format of disconnected cables, crossed cables, or cable reseating, contact your service provider before making any correction.
