This video shows How to install the Rail kit on Precision 7865 Tower. Before you begin, turn off the computer, disconnect all the attached peripherals, and remove any SD card installed in the SD card slot on your computer.
To begin insert the side-cover key and turn the key anti-clockwise to unlock the side cover. Then, push the release latch on the side cover and pull outwards to remove the side cover.
To remove the top cover, remove the two screws that secure the top cover to the computer. and slide the top cover to remove from the computer.
Align the tabs on the side cover with the slots on the chassis, then then hold the release latch and close the side cover. Insert the side-cover key into the key slot and turn it clockwise to lock the computer.
Now, remove four screws from the top rail kit. And then, align the top rail kit with screws holes on the computer and install four screws to secure the top rail.
Now, remove six screws from the bottom rail kit. And then, align the bottom rail kit with the screw holes on the computer and install six screws to secure the bottom rail kit.
The rail kit installation process is now complete. Now, let’s see how to remove the rail kit. You need to uninstall the same set of screws. First remove four screws from the top rail kit.
Now, replace the four screws to the top rail kit. Then, remove six screws from the bottom rail kit. Now, replace the six screws to the bottom rail kit.
Then, insert the side-cover key nd turn the key anti-clockwise to unlock the side cover. Then push the release latch on the side cover and pull outwards to remove the side cover.
To install the top cover, align the screw holes on the top cover with the screw holes on the computer And slied the top cover to lock it to the computer. and replace two screws.
Align the tabs on the side cover with the slots on the chassis, then move it inwards until it clicks in place. Insert the side-cover key into the key slot and turn it clockwise to lock the computer.
The rail kit removal process is now complete. You can now connect all the peripherals. Connect the power adapter and press the power button to power on the computer.
