If you make major changes like updating the BIOS or adding new hardware this is detected. You'll then be prompted to enter your recovery key.
BitLocker may automatically update its record of your system details after entering the recovery key once. If it doesn't, and you're prompted for your recovery key on every startup, search for 'BitLocker' from the start menu, then select 'BitLocker Drive Encryption'.
Suspend, then resume BitLocker and restart your system. This updates BitLocker's record of your system. Avoid being prompted for your recovery key by suspending BitLocker before making major changes, and resuming when you're done.
