Installation instructions
Use the following method to install the image through Merlin scripts on the WDM server.
Imaging Devices:
From Devices page
1. Go to the Devices tab and select the device that you want to image
2. Click on the Update button
3. Click on the Select Package drop down box, then go to the Images section and select the Desired Image
4. Click on Save button
From Images page
1. Go to Applications, then Images and select the Image that you want to deploy
2. Click the Update button
3. Select the View from where you want to deploy the Image
4. Click on Save button
ThinLinux Imaging can be executed from WMS using the following 2 methods, for Merlin and the Raw Image:
Merlin ThinLinux Imaging through APPS & DATA:
1. Download the Thin Linux RSP image file and place the files in repository in following path: \repository\osImages\Zipped folder
2. The Image File will automatically get unzipped and will be moved to a valid folder
3. Now Login to WMS, Navigate to APPS & DATA page
4. Click on the OS Image Policies, WES/Thin Linux
5. Click on Add Policy and provide the following details:
5.1. Policy name
5.2. Select the group from drop down (Group where device is assigned)
5.3. Select the OS type: ThinLinux
5.4. Select the OS Image from drop down, and the Image which was copied in repository will be listed
5.5. Select Rule, it's based on the image version (Upgrade or downgrade)
5.6. Click Save and Click Yes in next window
6. Schedule the image job by selecting the Policy name from drop down in the next window, then provide the description, select Run
7. Click Preview and Click Schedule
8. Click Update Now on the Client
Raw ThinLinux Imaging through WMS Configuration:
1. Copy the Raw ThinLinux Image file to a FTP path
2. Login to WMS
3. Navigate to Groups and Configs page
4. Click on the Group where device is registered, Click Edit Policies, and then Click ThinLinux
5. Click on Central configuration, then configure this item
6. Check the Enable delayed update checkbox
7. Provide Delayed update path
8. In Delayed update mode pick Image and Add-On, then Click Save and Publish
Configuring the Add-Ons:
To add the Add-ons from the INI server:
1. Click the + icon to install the Add-On. A list of available Add-Ons is displayed.
2. Select the required Add-On to install. You can then select multiple Add-Ons at one time
To remove Add-Ons:
1. Select the X icon to remove it from the installed Add-Ons list
2. Click Remove to remove the Add-On, and then click Save
