Symptoms

Wanneer u een asynchrone replicatiesessie probeert te maken op een thick resource, geeft Unisphere een foutmelding:

Cannot update destination because destination pool is full

U kunt dit ook zien in Unisphere's Alerts in de UI of in EMCSystem.log in de CLI:

"[WARN] User: Replication session rep_sess_res_3_res_12_CKMXXXXXXX_CKMYYYYY can not update destination because destination pool is full."
"[WARN] User: Replication session rep_sess_nas_2_nas_6_CKMXXXXXXX_CKMYYYYY can not update destination because destination pool is full."

Cause

Dit is een functie als ontwerp voor asynchrone replicatie op thick storageresources.
De storageresource en de snapshot nemen elk tijdens de eerste kopie respectievelijk ruimte in de doelpool in beslag.
Dit is niet van toepassing op synchrone replicatie en vereist niet om de capaciteit op het doel te verdubbelen wanneer de eerste kopie aan de gang is.

 

Resolution

Het probleem doet zich alleen voor bij thick storageresources met alleen asynchrone replicatieomgevingen .

Om te voorkomen dat er te veel ruimte wordt gebruikt voor de eerste kopie, maakt u asynchrone replicatiesessies op thin storagebronnen of gebruikt u synchrone replicatie.
Als de storageresources blokresources (LUN's) zijn, kunnen ze ook lokaal als dun worden verplaatst om de provisioning te wijzigen (niet ondersteund voor bestandssystemen - artikelnummer 000529907) (een Dell Support-account is vereist om dit artikel te bekijken)

Als de asynchrone replicatie al aanwezig is of bedoeld is om te worden gemaakt op thick storageresources, moet u ervoor zorgen dat de groep op de doelarray voldoende ruimte heeft (ten minste twee keer de gerepliceerde resources) om te voorkomen dat de groep vol raakt.

Om reeds volle storagepools op een doelarray op te lossen, vouwt u de storagepool uit.
