Symptome
The system reports the following alert during hardware verification:
EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00049: The system detected an invalid hardware configuration.
Running the misconfiguration check shows CPU hyperthreading mismatches, for example:
# enclosure show misconfiguration
CPUs:
Socket Model Cores Logical Cores Hyperthreading Status
------ --------- ----- ------------- -------------- ---------------
0 Gold 6140 18 36 on hyperthreading mismatch
1 Gold 6140 18 36 on hyperthreading mismatch
2 Gold 6140 18 36 on hyperthreading mismatch
3 Gold 6140 18 36 on hyperthreading mismatch
- All other components show no misconfiguration.
- This issue arises after motherboard replacement or after incorrect settings have been applied in BIOS.
Applies To:
- PowerEdge-based Data domain Systems
- This issue has been encountered on DD9910|DD9410|DD9900
- It may also be encountered on other models if Hyper-Threading settings are not what they should be.
- This issue has been encountered on DD9910|DD9410|DD9900
- All DDOS software versions
Ursache
During motherboard or memory replacement, the BIOS hyperthreading setting may not match the required configuration for the appliance model. The Device Inventory Verification (DIV) process detects the mismatch and generates the alert.
Lösung
Connect to the appliance’s iDRAC to correct the BIOS hyperthreading configuration and reboot the system.
1. Connect to the affected DD systems iDRAC interface.
- Connect directly by pointing a browser at the configured iDRAC IP address.
- OR | Alternatively (For example, Field Service):
- Connect a laptop to the system’s RJ45 iDRAC port using a straight‑through Ethernet cable.
- Configure the laptop with an IP address on the same subnet as the customer’s iDRAC network.
- Access the iDRAC web interface.
- OR | Alternatively (For example, Field Service):
2. Update Hyperthreading Settings.
- Navigate to:
Configuration → BIOS Settings → Processor Settings - Locate Logical Processor (this controls hyperthreading).
- Set the value based on the appliance model:
| Appliance Model | Required Setting |
|---|---|
| DD9900 | Disabled |
| DD9910 | Disabled |
| DD9410 | Enabled |
- Select Apply.
- Select Apply and Reboot.
3. Validate After Reboot
After the system restarts:
-
In iDRAC:
Verify the setting under:
Configuration → BIOS Settings → Processor Settings → Logical Processor -
In the DDR CLI:
Run the misconfiguration check:# enclosure show misconfiguration
Ensure that no CPU misconfiguration entries remain.
