Instructions:
1) Log in to the Oracle Host.2) Verify that your Database supports OS authentication as below
sqlplus /nolog SQL*Plus: Release 19.0.0.0.0 - Production on Thu Feb 17 07:44:56 2022 Version 19.14.0.0.0 Copyright (c) 1982, 2021, Oracle. All rights reserved. SQL> connect / as sysbackup Connected.
3) (Optional) Set ORACLE_OS_USER for each required SID in the rman_agent.cfg configuration file
( "/home/oracle/opt/dpsapps/rmanagent/config" is the default location)
For example, The rman_agent.cfg file includes the following settings to enable OS authentication for the database SID orcl:
[SID_orcl] ORACLE_OS_USER = oracle
For any supported Oracle version in a stand-alone or RAC system, SID_name must match the SID that runs on the local host.
Then, Save the file.
Then, Save the file.
4) Restart the agent on the Oracle Host as root
systemctl restart agentsvc
5) Create a Credential in PowerProtect Data Manager for the OS user by clicking on Administration>Credentials>Add
6) Create a Protection Policy in PowerProtect Data Manager by clicking on Protection>Protection Policies>Add.
7) Click on "Set Credentials"
8) Select "OS User" and Select the Credential created previously.
9) Run a test backup to check the configuration is OK
