The function key Fn+F1 shortcut does not show the toast notification when disconnecting the Alienware Graphic Amplifier (AGA) from an Alienware laptop. Which means you cannot disconnect the AGA.
It occurs when outputting to the external monitor in duplicate mode. All Alienware laptops which support AGA are affected.
Your system is working as designed. A new feature called Focus Assist was added with Windows 10 version 1803. The feature prevents the toast notification when you are duplicating the display, playing a game, or have an application in full screen mode.
You can find out more about this on the Microsoft site:
You can find the notification with the following steps:
Click the Action Center icon in the lower right-hand corner of the windows desktop.
By default, Focus Assist is set to Alarms Only when the system is in duplicate mode:

Press the function key Fn+F1 shortcut to disconnect the Alienware Graphic Amplifier:
(Figure.2 Action Center step 3)
Click YES to disconnect the Alienware Graphic Amplifier.
