Cause
Engineering suspects that pressure variance between populated and unpopulated sections of the DS60 enclosure may interfere with the adaptive cooling features of the PSU.
Although replacing the PSU clears the alert, returned units consistently test as healthy, and the issue may recur. The root cause is under investigation, and a fix is expected in a future DD OS release.
Resolution
To clear the false alert:
-
Reseat the affected PSU:
- Disconnect AC power from the PSU.
- Remove the PSU from its slot.
- Wait 20 seconds.
- Reinsert the PSU and reconnect AC power.
-
Verify system status using:
#enclosure show powersupply#enclosure show fans#alerts show current
-
If the alert persists:
- Swap the PSU with a known-good unit from another DS60 enclosure (if available).
- If unresolved, contact your Service Provider and raise a Support Request.
Note: This issue does not pose an immediate operational risk, but should be addressed to prevent alert fatigue and unnecessary hardware replacements.
Additional Information
Engineering is confident that a reseat resolves this false alert.
If a genuine fan failure is diagnosed, proceed to replace the PSU.
