VNXe: Error: CAS is Unavailable (User Correctable)

Symptoms



When logging into Unisphere you may receive an error "CAS is Unavailable"

Cause


Resolution

Need to restart Management Services. The procedures to restart Management Services are below: 

NOTE* THIS WILL NOT CAUSE ANY DISRUPTION*

If SSH is enabled: 

1. Log into system via SSH tool with user name service and service password

2. run command > svc_restart_service restart MGMT

Wait about 5 minutes and try to log into Unisphere

If SSH is not enabled: 

Access Unisphere in service mode: 

http://insertmgmtip/service.html

Example:

http://10.1.20.1/service.html

Once logged in you will be able to restart management services from the service screen.
