  <Description><![CDATA[A storage volume reported a Thin Provisioning Soft Threshold Reached error on a VPLEX write.

 

Cause

Wanneer VPLEX een SCSI-schrijfopdracht van de host verzendt naar een thin storagevolume dat is ingericht vanuit een thin pool die de vooraf geconfigureerde zachte drempelwaarde voor gebruik overschrijdt, kan de storage-array een waarschuwing van 6/38/07h voor de eenheid retourneren aan de VPLEX die aangeeft dat de storagepool onvoldoende ruimte heeft.

De aandacht van een eenheid is een zintuigtoets die een storage-array kan gebruiken om een wijziging in de operationele status door te geven aan andere apparaten (zoals de VPLEX). Wanneer VPLEX deze aandachtsmelding van de eenheid ontvangt, meldt het deze melding namens de array in een dial-home met een waarschuwing met de symptoomcode-ID 0x8a2d30aa. Dit dial-home duidt niet op een probleem met de VPLEX, maar op een drempelwaarde die wordt overschreden op een array achter de VPLEX. VPLEX meldt alleen het symptoom.
 

Resolution

Om dit probleem op te lossen, laat u de storagebeheerder ofwel extra blokresources toevoegen aan de thin pool op de back-endarray die het probleem meldt, ofwel de zachte drempelwaarde verhogen (indien ondersteund door de array) tot een waarde die groter is dan het huidige gebruik.

Additional Information

Om het array en storagevolume te identificeren dat de aandacht van het apparaat teruggeeft, zoekt u de VPD voor het volume in het CDATA-gedeelte van het dial-home-bericht.
