VxRail: Avoid Any Management Operations During Upgrade

Symptoms

During an upgrade, the following management operations are still shown as available.

  • Node addition
  • Node replacement
  • Node service operation including disk replacement, network card replacement, etc.
  • Cluster shutdown
  • VxRail Manager virtual machine shutdown or reboot or internal service stop/start

Cause

VxRail does not lock these operations during an upgrade. 

Resolution

Do not do above operations during the upgrade. They may cause an unexpected problem.
If the upgrade composite bundle is uploaded but the Lifecycle Manager (LCM) upgrade is not started yet, click "cancel" button before you do any management operation.
