Symptoms
Post upgrade from GDDR 5.2 to GDDR 5.3 (GD53033), GDDR Load Profile Management utility (GDDRLPRF) returned RC16.
Customer running Mainframe Enablers 8.5 (SF85044).
Error message:
The issue occurs in the customers production environment. In non-Prod, GDDRLPRF works without issue. However, in non-PROD all the systems are on the same CPC in DC3. In the production environment there are multiple CPCs.
There were no changes to the GDDR parameters.

There were no changes to the GDDR parameters.
Cause
GDDRLPRF was not passing the CPC site through correctly to GDDRHMC, causing the GDDR998E error.
Resolution
Workaround:
Permanent Fix:
Alter coding to explicitly name the Managed Systems:
From.
From.
//GDDRLPRF EXEC GDDRPROC //GDDR.SYSTSIN DD * EXECUTIL SEARCHDD(YES) GDDRRXST GDDRLPRF VALIDATE /* //*To:
//GDDR.SYSTSIN DD * EXECUTIL SEARCHDD(YES) GDDRRXST GDDRLPRF VALIDATE system#1 GDDRRXST GDDRLPRF VALIDATE system#2 GDDRRXST GDDRLPRF VALIDATE system#3 GDDRRXST GDDRLPRF VALIDATE system#4 GDDRRXST GDDRLPRF VALIDATE system#5 /*
Permanent Fix:
- For GDDR 5.3, PTF GD53047 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell Technologies Online Support.
This PTF will modify GDDRLPRF to correctly pass the CPC site through to GDDRHMC, avoiding the GDDR998E error. In addition, GDDRHMC has been updated to add 'at <site>' to the GDDR998E message so that the passed CPC site can be seen in case a similar problem occurs in the future.
Additional Information
GDDRLPRF
GDDR Load Profile Management utility (GDDRLPRF) The GDDR Load Profile Management utility (GDDRLPRF) is a batch interface between GDDR and the HMC-stored load activation profiles, applicable to systems running at the current primary DASD site. The utility provides two options:
Update the HMC load activation profile of a managed system based on GDDR IPL values stored for that system.
Validate the GDDR global variable-stored IPL parameters for a managed system against the managed system information and the information that is stored in the associated LOAD profile member.
