Symptoms

De NVP-oplossing (NetWorker VMware Protection) is geconfigureerd met het vProxy Appliance. De NetWorker Management Console (NMC) wordt gebruikt om een Virtual Machine (VM)-herstel uit te voeren. In het logboek van de herstelsessie wordt het volgende weergegeven:

Cause

De configuratie van de virtuele machine bevat een virtuele IDE-schijf. Het VMware Hot Add Transport biedt geen ondersteuning voor IDE-schijven, dus moet het VMware Network Block Device (NBD) Transport worden gebruikt voor het herstel. Het herstel wordt geconfigureerd tegen een vProxy die is geconfigureerd met de Hot Add Transport-sessies en geen NBD Transport-sessies.

Resolution

De back-up\herstel van IDE-schijven worden ondersteund met de NDB-transportmodus. Bewerk de configuratie van een vProxy-apparaat om het herstel uit te voeren met een NBD-sessie.  
  1. Open de NetWorker Management Console (NMC).
  2. Selecteer het tabblad "Devices".
  3. Selecteer "VMware Proxyes" in de linkerstructuurweergave.
  4. Open in het rechterdeelvenster de eigenschappen van een vProxy in het doelherstelcluster.
  5. Selecteer in het venster NSR VMware Proxy Properties het tabblad "Configuration".
  6. Verhoog het aantal 'Maximum aantal NBD-sessies' zodat dit overeenkomt met het 'Maximum aantal Hot Add-sessies'.
  7. Voer het VM-herstel uit met de vProxy geconfigureerd met NBD-sessies.
  8. Zodra het herstel is voltooid, wijzigt u de "Maximum aantal NBD-sessies" in nul om alleen de Hot Add-transportsessies te gebruiken voor back-ups.
