Dell Technologies carefully evaluates and monitors code deployment data. This ensures that product releases meet our stringent expectations to provide customers with reliable products and solutions.
The latest version is released with General Availability for each product, providing the latest functionality - including cumulative security and other enhancements
These versions may have been released recently, and thus initially have limited adoption and cumulative runtime on the field.
Latest versions might be designated as Recommended releases once they have been determined to meet the applicable criteria.
What is the Recommended Code?
Recommended code is a specific code version that has been found to be reliable, including high stability, security, and quality requirements. Specific criteria used to determine Recommended versions might vary across products.
Recommended versions are set at the third number, and customers are encouraged to upgrade to the latest maintenance update from the 'Drivers and Download' section of the Product Support Page.
What is the Minimum-Supported Code?
Oldest version of code that is supported under standard contracts, as per Service Descriptions for new contracts (effective 03 August 2024).
For applicable contracts, Dell Technologies reserves the right to deny warranty support for Products with installed code older than the specified Minimum-Supported Code.
Minimum Supported Code is typically a version released around 24 months ago, although this may vary by product.
Regardless of contractual applicability, all customers are encouraged to maintain code at least at the Minimum-Supported Code level, and preferably at the corresponding Recommended version for each respective product.
Compatibility and Interoperability Solution: Go to E-Lab Navigator for compatibility and Interoperability information about code versions for hardware and software configurations.
