Symptoms

  • NetWorker Module for Microsoft 19.4.0.4 Build.197
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 in AlwaysOn Availability Group (AAG) Cluster

SQL databases that are NOT hosted in AlwaysOn Availability Group back up without any issue

Databases that are in AAG were fail with the following error:
  
153887:nsrsqlsv: Microsoft SQL server documentation provides details about the following SQL Server Provider error:
38008:nsrsqlsv: Unable to access database 'DB_Name' because it lacks a quorum of nodes for high availability. Try the operation again later.
153416:nsrsqlsv: (Error: 988)
37938:nsrsqlsv: Failed to obtain filegroups for DB_Name.

Cause

There are issues with the Windows Cluster quorum disk.

Resolution

  1. Fix the issue with the quorum disk.
  2. Remove the SQL databases hosted in the AAG and then add them back.
