PowerStore: Supported and Unsupported Cluster configurations
Summary: Adding an appliance to the cluster requires satisfying several requirements to verify the cluster configuration is supported.
Instructions
Upon attempting to add a new appliance to an existing cluster may fail or an added appliance may show as "incompatible." There are various restrictions related to the appliance mode.
Appliance Hardware Generation
There are two PowerStore hardware generations (Gen1 and Gen2). Following are the hardware models for each generation and their supported appliance modes:

Supported Cluster Configurations
Following are all the supported cluster types and respective cluster configurations for each type: (BO=Block Optimized; U=Unified)

Unsupported Cluster Configurations
Except for the above supported cluster configurations, all other cluster configurations are NOT supported. The following cases are not supported:
- Adding a Gen 1/2 Unified appliance to a cluster with a Block Optimized appliance.
- Adding an additional Gen 1/2 Unified appliance to a cluster with Single unified cluster.
