PowerStore Alerts: Drive IOS status failed

Summary: The alert indicates there may be an issue with a drive (or NVRAM device). The drive fails a periodic I/O test.

Symptoms

Impact :

Newly added drive cannot be integrated into Data Path and should be analyzed for issues.

If the alert is reported against an existing drive, the drive may have some temporary degradation and needs to be checked for faults.

Cause

The following are possible reasons for this alert:

  • Temporary Drive hardware issue
  • Drive not seated properly
  • Failed drive firmware upgrade
  • Drive requires replacement

Resolution

If this alert persists for more than 30 minutes, contact Dell Technical Support for assistance.
