Instructions

Verify that there is a Disaster Recovery(DR) Backup of PowerProtect Data Manager.
The DR backup contains the Search Cluster backup.
From the PowerProtect Data Manager web console, look under Settings, on the upper right of the web UI in the blue bar between the Alerts and Help icons.
It looks like a cog.
Select Disaster Recovery.
If 'Enable Backup' is already selected, choose 'Manage Backups' from the three options on the left side of the window.
If it is not enabled, configure it for DDBoost.
Once configured, PowerProtect Data Manager should do the first backup after the configuration is saved.
After verifying that there is a recent backup:
1) Disable all Protection policies that have indexing enabled if it is important to ensure that all backups are indexed. Verify that Protection Jobs are not running by looking under Jobs->Protection Jobs to see if any are 'Running' or 'Queued' by using the Status filter.
2) Under Infrastructure->Search Engine, note the number of search nodes deployed.
3) Delete the search nodes. The Primary node has a blue start next to the name and has to be removed last.
4) After nodes are deleted, use the 'Add Node' button to add back the same number of nodes with the required network configuration changes for the new ones.
5) Wait for node deployment to complete.
6) Follow the procedure in 'PowerProtect Data Manager 19.13 Administration and User Guide' titled 'Recover the Search Engine from a DR backup'
The restore brings back the indexes without affecting the network configuration of the nodes.
